Welcome to DUMC Kids! We are your partner in bringing Jesus into the life of your family. We want your children, from birth to 6th grade, to look forward to coming to church and to see it as a safe, fun place to learn about and experience God’s love, make new friends, and simply be kids. We believe that active engagement in faith-centered activities brings all families closer in relationship with our loving God and with each other.

Sunday School (Overholt Hall & Room 6)
September 8 through May 18 | 9:00 AM

Kids aged 3yrs (potty trained) to 6th grade. Volunteer teachers provide unified, dynamic, Christ-centered instruction (and fun!).

Kids aged 3yrs–Kindergarten participate in Cherub Choir during Sunday School each week.

Enrollment is ongoing—it’s never too late to enroll for any of our Kids’ Worship opportunities!

Kids’ Word @ 11:11
September 8–May 18 during the 11:11 Service
Kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade enjoy their own Children’s Worship Service, which includes a Bible story, games, and crafts. Children participate in music worship during the 11:11 service and then depart for their own kids' worship time. Drop-ins are welcome to try us out.

Nursery
September 8 through June 16 | 8:55 AM– 12:30 PM

Nursery care for children aged birth through five years, from

Our nursery is staffed with two adult, background-checked caregivers. All children must be have a completed nursery registration to attend. Nursery is available most Sundays, Wednesday Lenten services, and Christmas Eve, unless otherwise noted.

Kids' Worship programs are held from September 10 through May 18, with the exception of the following dates:
March 30 – Family Sunday
December 1 – Happy Thanksgiving
December 22 – Merry Christmas!
December 29 – Happy New Year!
February 16 – President’s Day Weekend
April 20 – Happy Easter!
May 11 – Happy Mother’s Day!
May 25 – Memorial Day Weekend, Nursery unavailable

Volunteer Opportunities

If you’d like to get involved with Children’s Ministries–it will be rewarding beyond your expectations!
Here are some areas where you could have a great impact on our kids’ lives and our church family:
9:00 AM Sunday School Teachers  
You supply the love, we supply the curriculum!
11:11 Kids' Word Teachers
Join our growing kids' service and have fun too!
Vacation Bible School Crew and Station Leaders
Come out and join over 30 volunteers for a great week of fun and fellowship!
Help out with organizing our Sunday School closet, storage areas, or in the Children’s Ministry office.
We can always put your time and talents to good use!

safe sanctuaries

Safe Sanctuaries is DUMC’s program for training and conducting background clearances on all staff and volunteers who work with children and youth. We are mandated by the state of Pennsylvania to perform these background checks. We take this program very seriously and aim to have 100% of our staff and volunteers checked and trained.
