The Vine

For I was hungry and you fed me.
For I was thirsty and you gave me drink.
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
Matthew 25:35

The Vine turned 2!!

On May 4, 2018 we celebrated our second anniversary and we couldn’t be more proud!! To date our team has helped to provide OVER 35,000 food items/meals into the community via street outreach teams and other organizations for people who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to food. We have also put countless other necessities into the community for example: blessing bags; breakfast bags provided by the preschool at DUMC; sleeping bags; furniture; books; hand warmers; scarves, hats, and blankets knit by our wonderful group here at DUMC; and the list goes on and on about the generosity of items that has been shared as a result of our ongoing relationships with these organizations. Most of all we are blessed to have an amazing church with great people who feel called to help those in need. We couldn’t be more proud of how far we have come and we have all of you to thank!! We are making a wonderful difference within our community and look forward to another year ahead of making a difference in the lives of others in God’s name. Congratulations on this wonderful milestone!!

Again this year The Vine is offering a Thanksgiving “outside the church” experience . We invite those interested in donating items or cooking ability to sign up using the sign up genius links below!! The meal prep and distribution will occur this year on Wednesday November 14th!! Please email us at: thevineatdumc@gmail.com to volunteer on the  14th. This is a VERY easy way to help those in need. Last year we made meals for approximately 125 people. This year we estimate we will feed 200!! In addition to The Bucks Synergy Project and The Valley Youth House our team has also expanded to providing the USO in Horsham with a few Thanksgiving baskets to give to soldiers in need. We are excited to be able to offer this again this year!! Thank you in advance for your support!!
