The Vine

For I was hungry and you fed me.

For I was thirsty and you gave me drink.

I was a stranger and you invited me in.

Matthew 25:35

Feed My Sheep is excited to introduce a new mission here at DUMC, The Vine. The Vine is dedicated to preparing and providing healthy and nutritious food for homeless people. The Vine is partnering with the Synergy Project in Bucks County and Philadelphia to distribute the food we prepare to homeless people.

Working with the support of the Trustees, we obtained a new freezer/refrigerator in the DUMC kitchen which gives The Vine the ability to prepare fresh food that can be distributed to homeless people. This allows us to prepare sandwiches, soups, and other fresh food options to the people that the Synergy Project routinely helps and allows Feed My Sheep to coordinate with other food resources here at DUMC (God’s Garden of Eatin, Bucks County Food Runners, and Feed My Sheep’s collections from Panera, Starbucks and WAWA) to maximize the impact of the food that is being collected. Most importantly, The Vine provides the opportunity to help the neediest among us, the homeless, and show them that we as a Church care about their plight and actively are doing something to make a small difference in their lives.

The Vine seeks volunteers willing to donate time, treasure and talents to help the homeless. We need financial support, volunteers who are willing to cook/bake at home and food packagers who will package the food we create into individual servings that Synergy will pick up and distribute to homeless people in Bucks County and Philadelphia.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers for Feed My Sheep and The Vine!
